Good Morning Monday!

A good morning Monday to you!

hand-302802_1280Change is in the cool winter air and I know that change must start with me
There is so much good in the world I want everyone to see
I won’t focus on the negative because that will drive me mad

I don’t want to feel angry, hurt or sad

When an adorable little girl dances in a subway station and others join in
When a young student pushes herself so hard she can’t feel her legs but she still wins!
An elephant sees the ocean for the first time and is filled with joy
A sea creature on a dinner plate is mourned by one loving little boy

There is so much good in the world to see
We must be the change we have to be
When a man leaves his career behind to feed and care for the poor
All a dying girl wants are Christmas cards for her last Christmas… she wants nothing more
A mother dies and leaves behind a beautiful baby
A father is tragically killed but his son is saved and his mother thinks, “Just maybe…”

She will thank and honor those who were there
She will cherish each person who cared
Cared enough to not think twice… they did what they had to do and finally someone came through to say, “Thank you.”

If you look hard enough you will see that we are the change the world needs us to be xox

Have a wonderful week full of change and hope ūüôā

Thursday Thoughts: A Fairy Tale

images~There once was a magical land full of wonder, pure happiness and brilliant fairies of all kinds. It was called Panallia.

Painted with vibrant colors and sparkling skin the fairies would fly around in the deepest of dreams spreading love and peace. Content in their ways the fairies did not concern themselves with materialistic things, jealousy or violence because fairies (as you may know) are a very peaceful bunch.

The fairy lands were a wondrous sight indeed, with floating mountains high above the fluffy white clouds and trickling waterfalls that were crystal clear. The fairies would fly from tuft to tuft landing on the soft velvety moss with their tiny bare feet giggling all along the way. Glorious purple, red and pink flowers were scattered throughout the patches of lime green grass and under beautiful swaying trees which sang the songs of the land as the warm wind blew through their strong branches. The shining sun was always in the sky during the day and when night finally engulfed the majestic lands hanging in mid-air, the stars above were brighter than any human could ever see.

One small fairy in particular worried about the incredible landscapes that her and her family had come to love and cherish. Her name was Lanolind, the red fairy healer. Lanolind was a special dream fairy who protected the hearts of the children on earth down below the lands of Panallia. She dedicated her life to them, saved their innocence and dusted them with hope and magic so they could fulfill their desires and dreams of the future. And of course, she helped them to believe in fairy tales, for that was what made Panallia prosper and radiate its magnificence. It was how its existence thrived.

But alas, Lanolind found that it was becoming more and more difficult to instill hope into the poor children and began to realise the kids were no longer holding onto their hopes and dreams. Her magical fairy dust was being blocked by darkness and she could not figure out how to regain the light in their hearts. Dreams were forgotten and hope was lost. Even the lands of Panallia started to look darker and the flowers could no longer dance as they used to. The days seemed shorter and the wind became cool.

The children were becoming stagnant and they were no longer open to their own dreams nor did they believe in themselves. And so, they did not believe in fairy tales. Something had to be done.

So, Lanolind gathered a group of 3 other fairies to a meeting on the main mountain of Panallia, where bright blue dragon flies mingled with other insects and multicolored butterflies rested on yellow daisies. The meeting was called to discuss a shift in consciousness. To find a solution to the darkness that clouded the young minds on earth. The 4 fairies formed a circle facing each other and planted themselves on brown bulbous mushroom seats.

“They do not believe in us anymore. And worst of all… they no longer dream!” Cried Lanolind in her high-pitched voice as the other fairies quivered. A few gasps filled the fresh air and the fairies glanced back and forth exchanging fearful looks to one another.

For if the children no longer believed in fairy tales and hope for the future, then the fairies would fade away out of existence never to be thought of again.  Dreams would forever die and innocence would be lost for all eternity.

“What can we do?” Whispered Ezla, the purple fairy who cared for the animals.

All of the fairies remained silent.

No one knew what to do and each fairy lowered their wings in defeat one by one. Was there simply nothing they could do?

Hours and hours passed until finally Alarna, the golden fairy of light, shot up into the air and squealed as loud as she could.

“I’ve got it!” She exclaimed.

All of the pretty fairies locked their eyes on Alarna’s golden glow, anxiously awaiting her solution for this awful occurrence. As she lowered herself back down onto a silky mushroom top she opened her arms and slowly waved her wand in a circle creating a golden funnel of¬†illumination¬†in the center of the fairies.

“We will make the adults believe in us again!” She said confidently.

The 3 fairies looked at one another again with doubt splashed across their delicate faces.

“But how will we do that?” Asked Baltinda, the flower fairy full of ruffles and flower petals hung around¬†her tiny frame.

Alarna smiled as big as she could from ear to ear and opened her hand to the fairies.

“All we have to do is combine our strengths together to spread hope and love throughout the dreams of the adults. Only then will the children follow.”

It seemed like a mighty task indeed. To save the minds of the parents and regain their hope for the world. To believe in dreams and then teach their children to do the same. To tell the fairy tales once again.

It seemed impossible.

But the fairies were determined to find a way to survive. They wanted to help the poor souls that had lost their way. They truly believed in the future of mankind… that there must be a way to save the children AND their parents. So together they made¬†the most powerful fairy dust full of light from Alarna, compassion from Ezla, beauty from Baltinda and last but not least, pure hope from Lanolind. A combination of all the things that the humans desperately needed to survive.

fairy-tale-81855_1280

The final step was to find a way to sprinkle the powerful dust over the minds of the humans all at once so that the magic would work on everyone… so they called upon the white fairy of snow and frost, Zalinia.

Zalinia and the 4 other fairies then formed a circle over the earth once the darkness had taken away all light except for the crescent moon that night. From high above¬†they linked themselves together with¬†their petite hands while they began to sing the songs of the land with the swaying trees. They summoned their deepest most cherished¬†magic from within. Their¬†strongest hopes and dreams… and together created a blanket of magic and wonder that covered all of the earths surface.

Down below the warm shiny dust fell upon the innocent and left them sneezing and laughing in their sleep. Dreams began to resurface and build hopes for the days to come.

It wasn’t until days later that a wave of inspiration washed over Panallia and the flowers began to dance and sing along with the trees once again. The magic grew so strong that the fairies felt true happiness and strength within the land. The plan had worked and a shift was made!

A tremendous celebration rang through the heavens and brought a new found dreamscape full of promise and utopia. The fairies had succeeded in saving the minds of the humans, and in this action saved their home and themselves.

The floating mountains of Panallia were restored. Saved by the human dreams once they believed in themselves again. Parents began to tell fairy tales to their children who grew up to follow their own dreams.

The end.

~Thursday Thoughts: What if we all did our part?~

I hesitated writing this post¬†on the off-chance I might sound too self-righteous or something… but then I wrote it anyways!

~There are thousands and thousands of organizations out there trying to better our planet. We see wildlife conservation, child sponsorship, local volunteer projects and so on. Yet, our world as we know it is crumbling before we very eyes. Why?

Is it our Governments and politicians? images

Is it Monsanto?

untitled1

Is it criminals and liars?

Or is it us?

What if we could live in a world without war or famine? What if we could all just throw away our materialistic behaviour and start playing a role… even just a small part in our uprising?

What if we ALL did our part?

I wrote a post at the beginning of the year called “T’s top 10¬†must-do’s for the new year 2014”

https://thetinywriter.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/reflections-of-us-ts-top-10-must-dos-for-the-new-year-2014/

stating some of the projects I’ve decided to get involved with and some other self-love type activities we can all do to heighten our senses and think about ourselves on another level. I thought I could encourage people to get up and do something!

It only got 1 “like” and none of my Facebook friends even read it. Was I being to presumptuous to think people would care or even take my suggestions seriously? Did I sound too cocky?cocky

I have no idea. And I still don’t really know how to get more people on board to better our planet.

So here I sit. Writing my heart out each and every week… posting on my Facebook, linking my blog to my Twitter account hoping that somewhere out there someone might take a look at my message and say “That girl is right! I need to make a difference somehow!!”

imagesEOMS2EH4

But alas, my journey seems to be one of my very own and I probably sound like I think am better than other people or even¬†arrogant at times. Which I am not. I am no better than anyone else trying to make a change… trying to get more people involved. Why don’t others see this and get involved?

I keep thinking back to my “Save the Sea Turtles” campaign. My close friend literally told me that it looked like I was just taking people’s money to go on a vacation. How could something so good look so bad? How many other people look at me and think that? Do I sound like I am just toot’n my own horn here??

imagesS5JDATI3I tested my Facebook feed one week and posted a few pictures. One¬†of my new haircut and a post about “no poo” which is removing all chemicals from my hair and everyday life in general. Then I posted about a new job opportunity. Then I posted a heart-felt message about fundraising and child sponsorship seeking support from my friends and family.

Well guess which posts got the most “likes” and guess which one was completely ignored.

I guess the whole “Hey I’m doing this great thing and you should do some great things too” approach is not working ūüė¶

So, what do we do? Any suggestions?

And here’s to the people who dedicate their lives to World Aid. They are the real heroes on this planet ‚̧ I hope to make this my life sooner rather than later so I can really show people what we are ALL capable of ūüôā

Happy writing!

~Good Morning Monday~

~Good Morning Monday

A new week has begun

I am grateful today for the glorious sun

We have been spoiled this summer

but global warning’s a huge bummer

What is the cost for such fun?

I always recycle and compost what I can

but sadly this beautiful earth is being destroyed by our fellow man

Big oil sands only a province away

Chemtrails line our blue skies everyday

Toxic waste in our water and some days seem so much hotter

I don’t remember them ever being this way

What can I do? Do I spread this sad news?

Or do I boast about positive change?

How do we get the message across

to the people who only care about the costs

… of their bills and their cars and their marble lined bars

Do they even realise what’s going on?

Do they see this great sun and just think, “Oh another day has¬†begun!”

Do they mindlessly go mow their lawns?

Do they hear my concerns or think about how the world turns?

Do they see the sadness behind the hot sun?imagesV2J8HM0S

My body feels heat but my heart skips a beat when I think of the pain that’s so strong…

We all must wake up each day so let us figure out a way

To work together and make a positive change

As lucky as we are… the next generation won’t get very far

if we keep on going this same way…

So today I thank the skies for staying alive

and the sun for lighting up my day

For if these words reach one or two souls

Maybe… just maybe

… they may be so bold

And share their thoughts on how we can save

…all the beautiful days.meditation-277889_1280

May your week be full of purpose and love xo

Thursday Thoughts: Just a tiny girl in a big cruel world

~There are so many crazy things going on in our world today. Sometimes it’s so hard to keep a positive outlook on life. I keep thinking and hoping things will change but, what can I do as a single person?images90QLCEXS

I’m just a tiny girl. Just a speck in this vast universe that is slowly being destroyed. Here I stand at 5 foot zero… how can I make a difference while the world towers over me? I keep carrying this weight on my shoulders and straining my neck every time I look up for that droplet of hope to fall on my cheek.

There are hundreds of thousands of conservation projects underway and yet, animals are still dying in large numbers. Our oceans, rivers and streams are being poisoned everyday and people are dying all over the world due to pollution and hunger. Is there anything we can do to stop all of the chemicals from seeping into our lives? Our food? Our water?

How come everything is crumbling before our eyes regardless off all the efforts that are being accomplished? Is there simply nothing we can do to stop the earth from being destroyed?

When I started fundraising and getting involved with non-profit organizations that’s when I figured it out. A lot of people stopped talking to me and stopped liking certain posts about fundraising. I reached out to family members and friends to help with the causes I¬†am so passionate about but the response was not what I’d hoped for. The majority of people I reached out to weren’t interested in getting involved… and the reason was always money.

The root of all evil.

On a larger scale that’s what the main problem is. Despite all the efforts that are being made, most people won’t or can’t get involved.

So here I am. Just one tiny girl dancing in the middle of a full-scale, world-wide problem.

What else can I do? How can I spread this message? How can I get more people involved?

What do WE all do?

I ask you this: How can we change the world?

Is it possible?

~A song becomes a memory and the lyrics become a novel. What can I say?~

Preview: And so I sang to him and Tucker while the flames flickered in the night. Memories came rushing into my mind as I sang the words and the melody echoed through the forest:

Where do we go now?

Does it all go away?

Is there an ending?

What do you say?

Well I… think someone will fall for me someday and,

I… thank the stars for the friends I‚Äôve got today.

Well I sat down and thought about yesterday.

Was it a dream, is it the future?

What can I say?

Well I sat down and I thought about yesterday.

Was it a dream, is it the future?

What do you say?

What does this life mean?

Do we live day to day?

Is there more to be seen?

What do you say?

Well I… think someone will fall for me someday and,

I… thank the stars for the friends I‚Äôve got today.

Well I sat down and thought about yesterday

Was it a dream, is it the future?

What can I say?

Well I sat down and I thought about yesterday.

Was it a dream, is it the future?

What do you say?

Well I… don‚Äôt know what to do with myself and,

I… don‚Äôt know what the worlds got planned for me today.

And that’s ok ya hey hey!!

Well I sat down and I thought about yesterday.

Was it a dream, is it the future?

What can I say?

Well I sat down and I thought about yesterday.

Is this a dream?

Are we the future?
