Guest Post- 5 Best Places on Earth to Visit Before You Die!

What is your biggest dream? What do you want to do before you die? How many things do you still want to do? And which places have you always wanted to meet?

Do not worry; you can change your mind in the middle of the course. For some people, travelling is the greatest of all desires. Hard as it is to believe, these places do exist. And they’re as beautiful as they look in the photos.

A life is too little to know all the places you want, but this is not an impediment to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world. If you are a travel lover, you sure understand what we are talking about. If not, there is the possibility of becoming one, after seeing these places.

Plitvice Lakes National Park – Croatia

The Plitvice Lakes are undoubtedly the main tourist attraction of Croatia and our main goal in this trip. I know that a lot of people really like beach, ballad and beautiful people and in this respect, you can rest assured that the country gives a show. When you take a look at the colour of this water, the Lakes lies in the central region of the country, which is halfway between the capital Zagreb and the coast.

Bora Bora – French Polynesia

Preferred destination of French Polynesia by honeymooners, Bora Bora has a romantic, quiet and heavenly climate. The island is surrounded by an unmistakable blue sea, white sandy beaches and the Motus, a cordon of paradisiacal islets, which form a natural barrier and impound the waters of the ocean, creating the illusion that you are in a large blue lagoon Known as the “Pearl of Polynesia” and considered by many to be the most beautiful island in the Pacific, is 278 kilometres from Tahiti, or 45 minutes by flight from there. A great advantage of staying in Bora Bora is to admire the blue Stunning views of the ocean from your own bungalow, simply looking down from your feet, as many of them stand on the water and have part of the glass floor; the quiet beaches are the ideal setting for nautical sports.

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

Lauterbrunnen lies in one of the most impressive valleys of the Alps, between gigantic cliffs and mountain peaks. With 72 roaring waterfalls, cozy valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain lodges, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the largest nature conservation areas in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen is a charming town at the foot of the Jungfraujoch mountain in Switzerland. Your charm? A chain of imposing mountains cut by a valley. The centrinho has wooden chalets, ancient stone churches, and the most impressive, over 70 glacier waterfalls that sprout from the mountains. A beautiful place as few times I saw the same. And you want to know the best? Lauterbrunnen is close to Interlaken, and right on the way to Jungfraujoch or Schilthorn, two of the most popular rides to whoever wants the nearby Swiss Alps.

Hitsujiyama Park and the Kawachi Fuji Garden in Japan

Have you ever visited a botanical garden or booked a weekend afternoon to spend time with friends or girlfriend in a natural setting? If so, you know that sometimes a visit to a park, square or garden can be a great plan to enjoy the day. And the idea may seem even more tempting when the destination is made up of beautiful landscapes such as those found in the Kawachi Fuji Garden in Japan.

The park is about 6 hours’ journey from the Japanese capital Tokyo, and has its heyday between the months of April and May when the plants bloom. The entrance varies between 10 and 15 reais depending on the time of year. This value is compensated by the beautiful scenery scattered around the place, making even those who do not like flowers and plants appreciate the landscape.

Visiting the Azores in Portugal

The island of São Miguel is a small paradise planted in the middle of the Atlantic. Some believe it is the old Atlantis, others know it from the heart. Any trip to the Azores should include a visit to the island of São Miguel, since the island has some of the most emblematic landscapes of the Azores archipelago. If you want to visit São Miguel do not forget to include these places in your travel itinerary.

Traveling: Will It Make or Break You?

~Relationships are funny. You gain some and you lose some. Lessons are learned and hearts are broken. Travelling is a huge test when it comes to relationships and putting the two together can be either a wonderful practice or a deadly concoction.

If you have read my blog recently you may have noticed that I am going through a very painful break-up which makes it incredibly hard to write about the trip I just experienced with my ex two months ago. It really is true what they say: Traveling will make or break you.

Learning about someone in a relationship is exciting at times, but when you realize something is not quite right in that person’s actions towards you, it can be hard to understand where that person is coming from. This is exactly what happened to me. All I can say is that a distance grew between us and I don’t really understand why. Distractions caused me to feel invisible and ignored. Once we had returned from our trip the distance grew so strong that we ended up further apart than ever.

So I guess traveling broke us.

In any case, I find this to be true in friendships as well. Maybe it’s because there are shades of colors you can never see in a person unless you travel far away from home. Maybe it’s because traveling changes you. Whatever the reason may be, I believe it’s a blessing in disguise. Everything happens for a reason.

Going outside of your comfort zone can be a challenging decision. Stepping outside that zone with another person; well that’s a whole other story.

I lost a very special friendship while I was traveling through South East Asia. I had planned to meet up with an old friend in Thailand who I had known for years. I jumped on a plane and flew from Singapore to meet him. Once I arrived in Bangkok, we met up and had some fun in the city before venturing out to an Island called Ko Samet. My birthday was right around the corner and I was excited to celebrate.

But something happened during that trip that I will never understand. Everything seemed fine when we arrived but after a night of drinking and words, our friendship went sideways. Again, a distance suddenly grew between us and I started to notice a strong wall being built up inside my friend.

That evening I celebrated my birthday without him and danced around with some locals instead. If you’re interested in the details of how that night you can read my post: Stories of a Solo TravelerIn the end, the trip was a bit of a disaster. We left the island without speaking a word to one another and I sat on the bus back to Bangkok all by myself. I felt horrible.

Once arriving back in Bangkok I confronted my ex-friend about his actions towards me. He left me at the bus station that day and three days later he boarded a plane and flew back to Canada. I haven’t spoken to him in almost ten years now. Travelling seemed to have broken him and our friendship.

And that’s how fast it can happen.

Maybe it was something I said. It could have been something he felt and I didn’t. In my current situation, it was clearly something I felt and he did not. Now we are just strangers with a bunch of pictures of us from another country. Memories that were supposed to be happy but now just cause pain.

In both cases, I have felt totally abandoned by people who I thought cared about me.

I’m not going to lie, it hurts… a lot! But you can’t stop the changes that happen to someone else when you travel. Going somewhere else in the world is a life-changing experience. People’s true colors shine through and the universe either brings you together or it tears you apart.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve also had some amazingly happy trips with other people in my life. My best girlfriend and I have traveled down to Mexico a few times and everything turned out great for us. It all depends on the people, the timing and the situations you put yourselves into.

You can’t stop change. You can’t force change.

It is true what they say: Traveling will make or break you.

Luckily, I know how to put myself back together 🙂

Thursday Thoughts: The Messed Up Blog Post

~What happens when you work for hours and hours to perfect your blog post and then screw it up anyways?

This unfortunate circumstance has happened to me time and time again; the continuous read overs through each paragraph correcting one or two words at a time. The long pause when finishing a sentence and then deleting the entire thing because it sounds weird. Then that last correction after spell check says you have written everything in a passive voice or that you have just used a handful of clichés. cliché…

Then you ask yourself, “Can I even write!?”

Finally, you think that you have perfected each and every part of your post and you hit that dreaded Publish button and it only takes an entire day to realise that you have completely screwed up the title. THE TITLE!

The most important part of the post is ruined 😦

Everyone sees it. You manage to get the likes and a few more views, but the horror still lingers in your belly. You fix the link in your Facebook feed and you correct the Permalink in the post so that fewer people notice that you have messed up.

Oh, the horror… the messed up blog post.

So what happens? Nothing. Nothing at all. Life goes on as does the blog. It’s a learning experience I guess.

Try not to beat yourself up. Correct, move on and grow. 🙂

(I’m taking my own advice on this one)

Thursday Thoughts: Brains vs. Computers

adult-education-379219_1280Our minds are powerful tools that shape our every day lives. Computers are also very powerful tools that aid us in finding and storing information, but so do our minds. So we could say that computers are just like brains in a way. And that our brains are like a computer.

Now, I had this “argument” with my dad about whether computers make you smarter; My dad says computers definitely make people smarter and that’s why the next generation is more intelligent.notebook-405755_1280
I don’t agree.

I believe it’s the information we feed the computers that make us more computer savvy, not necessarily smarter though. Computers, if used only for mind numbing activities, can make us lazy and uninformed.

We can look at this in two different ways: In a way, yes, computers can make you more knowledgeable, but it all depends on what you are using your computer for. There is a huge difference between a “couch potato” gamer who does nothing but waste away hours and hours playing games and an honors student researching for a master’s degree or a programmer creating new software.

It’s the information we put into computers that can make us smarter, not the actual computer itself. In fact computers are solely made for one purpose: calculations. Literally, the only thing a computer does is input information and decode that information using arithmetic.

calculator-23414_1280

Maybe it’s just the sentence I’m having a problem with: computers make us smarter. A computer is a machine that we have to program.

So what do you think? Do you think computers make us smarter or do you think computers make us lazy?

Just a thought…

My 1 Year Blogiversary Apology xox

To my dearest Tiny Blog:

Today is a special 1 Year Blogiversary!

You have grown so much over the past year, but it’s only been in the last few months that your growth spurt has really taken off… and it’s all my fault.

So I just want to say… I’m sorry xo

I’m sorry I didn’t utilize your full potential until recently. I should have paid more attention to you in those first 8 months because if I had you would’ve been much more advanced by now. Although we are both still growing together, I am so very proud to have such a beautiful little blog to call my own 🙂

You complete me.

My baby blog is not a baby anymore and I can’t wait to see what happens in the years to come. You have shown me a way to express myself once again. You have invited wonderful people to our page and have connected me with the amazing talented bloggers this small corner of the interwebs holds. I am so very grateful.

There are over 15oo followers to date on Tee’s Tiny Blog and to all of those people who have stuck around I just want to say THANK YOU!!

I love you tiny blog and we are not going anywhere!! We made it here together 😀

A BIG FAT LOVING THANK YOU!! Dedicated to my followers <3

~I am so excited to announce that I have just broken the 200 followers milestone on WordPress!! 😀 That on top of my wonderful email following of over 1,050 as of today, is such an incredible accomplishment for me and my tiny blog.

I know that might seem like a low number to some, but I am for one so proud. I neglected my blog for a good part of a year but in the last few months it’s become my home. A place to share my story.

To my loyal following,

THANK YOU!! Tee’s Tiny Blog would be nothing if it weren’t for your dedication and interest in my little corner of the interwebs. I am so honored to have you here! ❤ Without you I wouldn’t be writing again. I wouldn’t be following my dream and I probably wouldn’t think I’m any good at writing all together.

Because of you I am here 😀 Thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❤

OK yes I am a cheesy mushy gushy lover of a gal and you just got loved!!!

❤ ❤ ❤

Love Tiny ~T myself

Muah!! xoxox

So you want to be Travel Blogger? Me too!

globe-454479_1280SO I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to talk about Travel Blogging  as I continually warp my blog over and over. I’ve landed on a new look I really like and I’ve made changes so my blog is more responsive.

Now let’s talk about being a Travel Blogger! 🙂

Travel Blogging is one of those professions everyone secretly wants to have. Wandering around the globe with only a backpack hanging off your shoulders, stopping to “work” beach side from a lovely little café in Europe somewhere or just relaxing while you write your next post from a hammock tied to a tree in some humid rain forest in South America.

OK these are my visions of being a Travel Blogger. What are yours?

During these past few months I’ve gone into great detail on how to be a Journalist and the many ways people make money as freelancers. You can post online to magazines and newspapers, send pitches to print publications or send portfolios to publications who are specifically looking for completed articles.

Well guess what?! Travel Blogging is pretty much the same thing.

Most travel blogs I come across do a hand full of the same things Journalists do, like pitching to an online magazine. The only difference I’ve found is that those bloggers are pitching to travel publications. It’s the only difference I can find.

sign-429419_1280

In many cases, it’s a matter of finding ways to make money. As I’ve stated in earlier posts you can make money on the road by writing for magazines, using ads on your blog, direct sales or copy writing. If you take a look at Sebastian’s blog from Off the Path, you will see he does a number of these jobs to make ends meet:
http://www.off-the-path.com/

Another great site I stumbled upon is The Travel Bloggers Academy. It has a course you can take through their website, which is a couple of years old, but still has relevant information.

http://travelbloggeracademy.com/how-to-become-a-travel-writer/

Aside from posting on your blog about amazing places you’ve been, Travel Blogging can go as far as you want to take it. If you want to keep travelling, you must find ways to make money.

My travel blog is still in its beginning stages so I’m just discovering the many ways to actually make this work. If you have a look at my post from yesterday you’ll see all the changes I’ve made:

https://thetinywriter.org/2014/10/23/thursday-thoughts-on-blogging-201/

The next step for me is triple checking that I don’t have copyrighted images on my blog. If you want to use Word ads, that’s a crucial thing to be sure of. You can’t have any ads promoting through your blog if they are not your own or from legitimate free-to-use sites. It may take some time, but go through ALL of your images if you’ve taken them off the internet and if you don’t know about an image then email the website you took it from.

I hope this helps!

Travel Blogging is a “Dream Job” everyone wants to be in whether they say so or not. What separates you from the people who are keeping it a pipe dream?

GOING FOR IT!!

Happy Travel Blogging! xo

PS: I just started using Zemanta as well. This plugin helps you find related articles, tags and images through its own search. Pretty cool right?! Check it out: http://www.zemanta.com/

Questions about WordPress… For me? I’m honored!

Well I am definitely honored that my inbox is filling up with such kind and sincere comments, along with some WordPress questions… for me! What!?

I just want say THANK YOU to those who’ve taken the time to comment on certain posts. I really am touched by so many wonderful reply’s to my site 🙂 about the set-up process, I am still in the beginning stages and honestly… I didn’t even see some of the comments because I don’t know how to separate spam from legit bloggers! HA!

I still have so many questions myself so I thought I would post an answers and questions article to share some feedback.

A&Q:

A. I made my site through a free WordPress theme (twenty ten) but then later purchased a package that included my domain name and some advanced customized options. This is how I change my fonts, backgrounds and header images now. There are a few more options with purchased themes.

Q. I still don’t know if I can use certain social plugins on WordPress.com, which is what I have. WordPress.com vs WordPress.org=is it worth it? There are more plugins on .org but you lose followers by switching and it’s not free.

A. You can still do a very nice website FREE through WordPress.com it just depends on what you want to do with your website.

Q. RSS feed? I’m still unsure about this. How do I give someone my RSS feed through another blog site?

A. You can follow my site and receive emails if you are subscribed. I do have a follow button but not an email subscribe option. Again, I don’t know if I can get that plugin on wp.com. My boyfriend didn’t have a blog so he had to create a Gravatar to follow through email. I’m not sure this site is available to other hosting sites through email unless you sign up with WordPress.

Thanks so much for all the feedback and wonderful comments. Hopefully some other fellow bloggers can help us out! 🙂

The Joys of Writing xo

meI started my blog last fall and until now I didn’t really know how to build a following. I still don’t even know half of the functions on WordPress. I just began writing some stuff that interested me in hopes that my message of love and inspiration would reach some fellow writers and maybe I might get a few likes here and there. Now, after almost a year I’ve realised one very important thing:

It doesn’t matter how many likes or followers I get… what matters is my love of writing ❤

I have noticed that most of my face book friends don’t usually read my blog. YOU read my blog and that’s what makes connecting with bloggers so much fun! You may not know who I am on a personal basis, but you read my words and get a small glimpse into my writing journey. You know me for my most important quality: my hopes and dreams for the future. I am a dreamer.

I am on a journey that was meant to be ever since I was a little kid and you get to follow me through the joys and wonders of my writing.

I’ve been constantly posting links to my blog through my face book page and inviting people to join. I have personally asked friends and family members to follow and see what I’ve been up to. But, all of my followers on my blog are complete strangers. I don’t know anyone personally and I may never even know what you look like… and that doesn’t matter.

YOU MATTER! 🙂

photo posted on www.post-gazette.com

The most crucial thing about this whole experience is to enjoy what I am doing. After years of not writing anything… I am finally writing again AND LOVING IT!! Having a blog is so wonderful and I’m very much loving every minute of it. Reading what others have to say and following their journey as well as sharing my own… it’s fascinating.

Writing is a part of me! And I thank all of you for following 🙂

The right people will follow and encourage me if I just stick with this feeling of love. My love for writing ❤ It is an honor to share my thoughts and feelings with those on a similar path and that is all that matters in the end.

And so I leave you with some inspirational quotes from the great Robin Williams xo may he R.I.P.

From Dead Poets Society:

John Keating: “We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless… of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?” Answer. That you are here – that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?”

“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”

“Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Don’t be resigned to that. Break out!’
